Guntu was a vulgo of villains in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Guntu, Guanggun, Diaogun, Pigun, Jiangun, Digun etc. can almost be synonymous to each other in the social context. The above concepts from the daily life inevitably were given more explicit legal meanings in the criminal law of the Qing Dynasty. Previous studies did not find out legal meanings and interrelationships of above concepts. It is necessary to clarify the relationship of regulations and punishment on such groups. This article is intended to address these issues, by exploring the legislative logic to the present scene of “li” was produced by “contrast” .
