中央公园草莓园是
约翰列侬（John Lennon）
遗孀 --
小野洋子为了纪念其夫1980 遇刺，在住处（也是列侬遇害的地点）达科塔公寓前，出资修缮了这个泪
滴状区域，并称之为“Strawberry Fields” (草莓园)
，因为列侬在1967年写了一首名曲 -- “Strawberry Field Forever” (永远的草莓园)
这个花园中有来自世界各国的捐赠的树木花草，故称“国际和平公园”
(International garden of peace)。
草莓园l路边岩石上有一块草莓园纪念标志牌。

草莓园游人如潮
园内步道上有一个星形、黑白相间的马赛克图形，
每年12月8日（列侬遇害日），全世界的披头士歌迷会聚集在此共同纪念他，并遥望达科塔旧居，平
时也会有歌迷在马赛克图形上放一束鲜花来凭吊他。
达科他自从在19世纪后期开放，吸引了众多富人和名人。著名的居民包括茱蒂嘉兰、伯恩斯坦
、劳伦白考儿、卡森麦卡勒斯、鲍里斯Karloff、钟康妮和保罗西蒙。约
翰列侬住
在这里直到他被枪杀，他的妻子小野洋子仍
然生活在达科他公寓。
